Splendido Sunset Color Run
Splendido Taal Country Club is a one-stop recreation center in Batangas, Philippines. It is home to one of the best golf courses in the country, as well as to a plethora of sports and leisure amenities. Situated on a mountain ridge, Splendido Taal Country Club lets their visitors play and enjoy, while soaking in an ambiance of pure natural luxury.
As part of their 2018 marketing strategy, Splendido Taal Country Club wanted to organize a running event in order to attract visitors and new club members, so they approached us to help them pursue it through strategic design.
What We Did
Event Brand Identity, Event Brand Strategy, Social Media Content & Strategy
After studying their marketing goals and conducting a competitive analysis, we decided that it was best to stage a family-centric racecation - a trip that includes running, sightseeing, and relaxation. In collaboration with the client, we came up with the concept for Splendido Sunset Color Run.
Splendido Sunset Color Run was all about fun and family. It was about taking some time off, escaping to a beautiful destination, and spending some quality time with your loved ones in a creative and fun way.
We focused on this idea and used this angle as a means to tell the event's story and craft the brand's identity. We made sure to create an experience that will appeal to children and teens, yet exciting enough to also pack a punch for parents/adults.
To create the elements for the visual identity, we took pieces of inspiration from the beautiful landscapes that surround the event location - Taal Volcano, Taal Lake, and the neighboring mountains of Batulao, Talamitam, and Maculot.
The brand’s array of bright and lively colors and quirky types were utilized in all the event collateral - posters, medals, bibs, shirts, stickers, race kits, etc. And to help convey a sense of fun and playfulness, illustrations and patterns were also designed to be part of the identity.
"Best weekend ever!" - that was the feeling that we wanted the participants to take home after the event. This was essential part of the event's story that we felt needed to be clearly communicated in the marketing campaign.
With the event selling out within two weeks, we can say that Splendido Sunset Color Run was definitely a success.
